 Searchable Text

This curriculum includes hundreds of books in digital format. Similar products consist of graphical images only.  We took this product to the next level.  We did not just scan the pages out of a book.  Most of the books in this product have been run through optical character recognition software, edited, and proof read.  This is very time consuming, however, it results in a much more useful product.  The text is searchable, and the books take up a lot less space while resulting in a much higher quality product.  One similar product, with approx. 250 books, an encyclopedia, and a dictionary, consumes 22 CD's.  This product only occupies about half of one CD, and has over 800 titles.

If you have ever wanted find that special quote, but cannot remember just where it is, searchable text is a God send.

The only books that we did not perform OCR on were books with extensive graphics, or diacritical marks, that would either be lost in the translation, or preserving the original look and feel would be so labor intensive that the cost could not be justified.  McGuffey's readers, and the Grammar books by Alonzo Reed and Brainerd Kellogg, and the penmanship book are the only books that are not searchable. All the history, literature and philosophy books are fully searchable.  Many of the books offered some interesting challenges, for example, spell check cannot be used on One Syllable Books,  with every other word, being hyphenated.
